We’ve grown up in Diet Culture.
Where the size of your jeans & the number on the scale would dictate our value.
And while the world has evolved, and diet culture isn’t as trendy as it used to be, it’s still very much there, hidden within weight management programs, health washing claims, cleanses, juice fasts, and clever marketing that has some kind of ever-so-subtle and gobsmackingly blunt way of making us feel like we’ll never be enough the way that we are.
And I’m here to teach you that you ABSOLUTELY ARE.
The world can go ahead and continue to try to tell us that we NEED to be:
smarter, tougher, stronger, more profitable, successful, and gorgeous;
that we need to fit into a mold, cardboard box, or label;
that we need to meditate, do yoga, and attend expensive retreats regularly…
AND WE CAN SAY HELL NO.
I’m here to tell you that amongst all the messaging, the marketing, the bombardment, the trickery,
you can stand TALL & PROUD in your own plain-ass sneakers and allow it to
NO LONGER HAVE POWER OVER YOU.
I want you to Love Food Again.
Without the mental head games and emotional meltdowns.
I want you to feel good in your body and not pick yourself apart every time you walk by the hallway mirror.
I want your kids to see a Mom who respects & shows kindness to her body, who chooses nourishing food, but eats the cookies & cake sometimes too.
If you are turning yourself over to a bag of doritos and a jumbo snickers at the end of a rough day, I want to help you unpack that and come up with soul-satisfying solutions to cope with those habits & emotions without the shame/sugar hangover.
If you feel overwhelmed by the urgent onslaught of directives to fast, cleanse, drink celery juice, and cut carbs, I want to help you get back to basic nutrition, understanding the body’s natural rhythms, and create a doable daily regime that works great for you.
I’ve Been There
I lost myself to an Eating Disorder for over a decade of my life.
It wasn’t pretty or graceful.
And yet, it’s become a beautiful aspect of who I am.
Because I’ve come back from that
(with high kicks, a Cancer recovery, and a wonder woman headband, I have to say)
And armed myself with 10+ years of Nutritional & Counseling education & experience so that I can be the support for you that I wish I had of had when I was young.
